PROCESSION AND TOUR SAINTE RENELDE

This peregrination is made up only of men on horseback (including the musicians) and honours the Patron Saint of the village: St. Renelde ... (there are between one hundred and fifty and two hundred who make up the cortège).

After the mass given for the riders at 5 am, the Grand Peregrination starts at 7.30 am. To the tunes of the musicians on horseback, they cover a journey of 30 km to the borders of the surrounding communes before returning to Saintes at around 5 pm to escort the float to the church.


Saturday 10/06 at night : solemn salute in the Sainte-Renelde church during which the relics of the saint are put on the chariot.
Sunday 11/06 in the morning: departure of the chariot for a route of 28 km around the primitive parish of Saintes. There will be a mass in Quenast at 10 am. The solemn return to the church is planned around 4 pm.
Monday 12/06 in the morning: small procession around the church.

The procession always takes place the Sunday after Whitsun
